The Hangover

By Dan Bowen

God I love my iPhone. I woke up at 13:00 with a rather nasty hangover so I decided to put off going to Luxembourg until tomorrow. I checked the email confirmation for the hostel phone number, saved it and then fired up Skype, 30 seconds later the bed for tonight was cancelled. Just like in the advert it was.

Another reason to stay an extra day was that me and Pekka were 6 episodes (out of 10) into Band of Brothers. What sort of man could leave under those circumstances? A 4 episode marathon later and the war is won.

I wouldn’t necessarily say I liked the club last night but it was certainly an experience worth having. I can’t remember the name of it but it’s held once a month at some massive sort of abandoned college, there were a couple of large indoor rooms and then a few more open ones with stuff going on outside. It made for a good setting. It was also relatively cheap.

The only thing that got on my nerves was that the style of music kept changing constantly in the rooms, normally for the worse. Like in the reggae room ‘Stop That Train’ by Keith and Tex (tune!) was playing one minute and then it was followed by some shite R&B. Outside The Clash were playing and then some hardcore pap would come on. “I used to be indecisive but now I’m not so sure, straight away you’ve got them by the janglers”.

Okay I’m just off to watch ‘A Clockwork Orange’. See you in Lux.

My waffle from the other day.
